About us

Loma Vista 4-H is a 4-H club located in Ventura,CA.We are part of a national organization: 4-H Youth Development Programs. In the state of Califoria, 4-H is an outreach of the University of California Departement of Agriculture.Adult volunteers lead curriculum based projects in areas of science,agiculture, communications ,and leadership. Members expand knowledge and gain useful life skills through curriculum based projects.The club is run by the youth members with the opportunity to serve on the board at the individual club and county levels.We focus on community service, members are consistently helping the community in various ways. We also develop leadership skills in our members though projects and the opportunity to be on the board. The 4-H year is the same as the school year.There are no meetings in July and August.The only 4-H activity during the summer is the County Fair. Our club meets every second Tuesday of the month at Poinsettia Elementary School in Ventura. It is located on Victoria Avenue between Telegraph and Foothill Rds. Membership is open to any youth ages 5 to 18 years.
